RUFOUS-SIDED TOWHEE...Pipilo erythropthaimus Occurs in eastern and western North America. The western birds are more spotted on the wing-tops and back. Adult females marked similarly to the males, but duller.  These towhees are timid birds, best photographed near bird feeders.
